We all love watching TV shows and movies. And seeing our favorite actors/actresses
getting recognition for great acting on said shows and movie? Well, The Golden Globe Awards is the place to go to see both of those things in one. The Golden Globes Awards are presented annually by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) in recognition of outstanding achievement in motion pictures and television during the previous year. This year, that date of achievements landed on January 7th, 2024
This year on the runway, The media went crazy over the "Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion
Picture for TV" segment of the ceremony, causing the Elizabeth Olsen and Ali Wong Fandoms to go crazy over who won. Ali Wong won a Golden Globe for the TV show, Beef, where she played Amy Lau, business owner who gets into a road rage incident. Elizabeth Olsen was a nominee for that award for the TV show, Love and Death, where she played Candy Montgomery, a real life ax murderer set in 1980.
Needless to say, fans were shocked around the world when they found out that
Elizabeth Olsen- A hardworking Actress and Younger Sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen;
who has starred in things such as Marvel as Wanda Maximoff, Wind River as Jane Banner, and
In Secret as Thérèse Raquin- had lost yet another award to an actor who only did half the acting she did. Fans on places such as TikTok and Twitter have pointed out that Wong shouldn't have gotten the Golden Globe Award for Beef because Olsen was more emotionally presented and knew how to act in those situations in the show and deserved her award. Wong on the other hand didn't know how to act in certain situations and therefore didn't deserve the Award presented to her.
Wong isn't a horrible actress; people around the world are not saying that whatsoever. People
are only saying that, after all these years, Olsen deserves to get an award for her amazing
acting in her movies and TV shows outside of her character, Wanda Maximoff. Some
may say it was up to the votes of the public and that's fair. People are just
hoping for Olsen to be recognized for her roles outside of Marvel. Ali Wong is an amazing actress in movies and shows such as Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey and American Housewife She deserves some awards but this award should have been set aside for Elizabeth Olsen.
So far, no feud has started between Wong and Olsen or their fans.
