Students seem to have mixed feelings here at the range about Spirit Days. Some say they  enjoy these days, some students want to see a change in these spirit days. These spirit weeks are meant to bring stude

nts together and participate in spirit week. But it seems the majority want new themed days.

The first spirit week of the year was for Homecoming week. The Spirit days were Team Day,  Tie-Dye Day, Black and Blue Day, Beach Day, and Neon Day.

Now some students at Mountain Range liked these themes. When asked about their favorite themed day, student Eric D.(12th) says, ”Team day was my favorite to participate in. It was the easiest day for me to do and something I like.”

Other students didn’t really like these themes. Student Ian R.(12th) gives his thoughts on the spirit days,” I think themes could be way better. Some of them are boring or something not people can do.” Ian also adds,” Like Tie-Dye day, people decided to make it a Y2K day because no one really has Tie-Dye and I just think they should give us choices on which themes we’d prefer.”

Some students gave their opinions on which themes they would prefer when given a survey: Camo Day and Y2k Day. These were the most voted for themes by a survey conducted between 50 students at MRHS. While with these same 50 students, over 66% of them said Tie-Dye day was their least favorite day.

Some students gave opinions such as, “No one has Tie-Dye” From an anonymous student. Another student said,” Neon day is interesting but I understand since it's the homecoming football game theme and is tradition.”

Overall students across MRHS believe this should be a more school wide decision on spirit days as they bring the school together.
