As all fall sports have begun, the Mountain Range Girls Volleyball team is off to an amazing  start and is looking to improve upon their season. From many new players, to a new coach. Change has been great for the culture of the Mustangs.

In the 2024-2025 season, the Mustangs had a record of 5-18 and led by 9 total seniors on the 13 team roster. This season the girls are red hot, starting off 7-2 and 2-0 in league. Some Key returning pieces from last year's varsity are Maria U.(11th) who is an outstanding hitter and all around player for this team. Others include Neveah C.(11th) who is a setter for this team, Persaus R.(12th) who plays defensive specialist and led the team in digs last season , Katelyn P.(12th) Who is a great leader and contributor to the Mustangs.

This year, the Mustangs bring in 7 new varsity players and all of whom have very important roles including Leah S. (12th) who is one of the setters on the team and is enjoying the season.

“I like that we have a coach this year that believes in us and gives us the confidence to go into games with the correct mindset. The culture with the team this year has been the strongest team I have played with because we all get along with each other on and off the court and that benefits us during games.” Says Leah S, (12th) when asked about the change in culture and coaching this season.

“ I really enjoy every single thing not just about my team but the program itself, these girls are so kind and open and their dedication to grow is beyond real. There is so much chemistry that has been sparked this year and I feel like I'm able to actually connect with all the girls.". Says Maria U.(11th) When asked about what she likes about this team that's different from others in the past.

The Mustangs also bring in a new coach  Courtney Richardson who is looking to make a change in the culture and turn the Mustang program around with the tools she has.

The Mustangs next take on the Westminster Wolves on Tuesday 9/23 @ Westminster High School and their next home game is against Prairie View High School on 9/25 and look to keep rolling on their amazing start.
