Mr. Kyle Wimmer is one of the most beloved teachers in our entire school. He recently announced that he would be retiring next year and many of the students were devastated by this news.
Wimmer is one of the most liked teachers at Mountain Range because he is
“funny and makes his classes fun” according to one of his former students. He is the creator of the Four 24 anti-vape
campaign, and he is leaving his teaching career to travel around the nation and
focus on Four24 to continue to get people to quit vaping. So far, he has helped
hundreds of students at schools around the country quit vaping and has offered
different solutions to vaping and smoking. Last year, Mr. Wimmer was able to get
famous Youtuber Daydrian Harding to come to Mountain Range and speak up
about quitting vaping and smoking.
Mr. Wimmer has been traveling all over the nation speaking to different school
and advocating for quitting vaping, “I could no longer teach and speak at the
same time. I feel bad for leaving but my heart is so full when I get done at a
school.” Mr. Wimmer has put so much effort and time into building up Four24 that
he is unable to teach and speak up. He claims that “This is my purpose.” He has
already helped so many students all over the United States, recently travelling to Virginia, California, Michigan, and Maryland.’
Mr. Wimmer believes that he was born to do this,so he left his job to travel the country and save lives: “God put me on this path and this is my purpose.” He receives so many messages every day that are thanking him for saving their lives. “Having kids receive me and thank me and send me messages saying that I literally saved their life is beyond words.”
There are some challenges that Mr. Wimmer has had to face. The most difficult
thing that happened was leaving the students that he was with everyday and
cared for so much. The best part of this for Wimmer is sharing his story and
empowering the youth one school at a time. The pros heavily outweigh the cons.
He chose to sacrifice his love for teaching and his students for saving the lives of
students all across the country. Fortunately for MRHS, he will be back on The Mountain for 4/24 day along with his “gaggle of influencers” to reconnect with all the students who continue to embrace his message.
