Landon C. is a student at Mountain Range High School searching for a way to make high school entertaining. His writing is complex and honest with the goal of helping an audience seek the truth. Word choice and founding of writing came from his love of fiction and storytelling. The stories he writes are usually fictional with a good sense of realism and maturity for an authentic experience rather than a casual read. Outside of school he can be found enjoying aviation and carrying his father’s passion for motorcycles. His dream is to one day fly for the United States Navy after going through flight school. His personal instagram is the best way to find and contact him, @numet_aprilia.

Angelina G. is a sophomore who would rather be in the warm, comfy embrace of her blankets than be at school for seven hours, but of course nobody has that privilege. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, and recently relocated from Missouri, she is still finding her place in Colorado. She always had a passion for writing, whether it be writing silly stories to entertain her 5th grade class or writing essays for her high school English classes. She considers herself a creative person with a very active imagination that can often get in the way of schoolwork. In her free time, she is often found laying in her bed drawing and doodling with her cat Sherbert or playing (winning) various video games instead of doing her schoolwork. Some of her favorite games include Hollow Knight, Minecraft, Stardew Valley, and Terraria. Her favorite thing to do, even more than doing absolutely nothing, is hanging out with her friends and doing things with them. She is an extrovert at heart, even if her preference for alone time suggests otherwise. Her goal this year is to make more friends and just make it through the year.

Anabella V. is an MRHS 10th-grade Journalism student who, quite frankly, became most interested in Journalism because of Rory Gilmore, a character in the renowned sitcom "Gilmore Girls". Anabella was inspired by Rory's determination toward school and her goal-oriented state of mind. Anabella grew up a lover of all types of media: movies, music, and books. This inspired her passion for creating any type of art, whether it was writing cheesy poems in her 4th-grade diary or learning her favorite songs on her guitar. As she grew up, she became much more intertwined with these hobbies and passions and decided to pursue these creative outlets. Due to the rising conflict in our nation's political climate, she also took notice of countless articles and videos of news reporters on the scene. She was awestruck by the idea of being there in the moment, able to record live news, whether it was a protest fighting against ICE agents and deportation laws or concerts of the latest, hottest music in the world. When she's not engrossed in a book or article, you can find Anabella playing the viola in her school orchestra or going on a night run as her own source of therapy. Vivas hopes to further her writing skills in her journalism class. She hopes to learn the bits and pieces, the specifics of writing, and expressing her thoughts like a true journalist. She could only hope to be at least half as good as artists such as Stephen King, Sylvia Plath, Greta Gerwig, Florence Welch, Thom Yorke, Stevie Nicks, Frida Kahlo and more.

Azamya A. is someone who looks like she doesn't talk a lot but when you get to know her she never stops talking, sadly. Azamya is a 10th grade journalism student at Mountain Range High School. She hopes to become better at maximizing her social skills and jumping out of the box into society to make herself known. Some of Azamya's favorite authors are Stephen King, Holly Jackson, Susan Kaysen, and Jeffery Eugenides. Outside of school she participates in volleyball for the school and a club team. Growing up Azamya loved watching movies, painting, reading fairy tales and making bracelets, and she had a wild imagination and would always dress up no matter what the occasion was, she still does, but she has better outfits now. When she was little she used to watch Mickey Mouse and thought that it was so cool how Daisy Duck was a journalist and was able to interview anyone and thought that it would be a cool job to have. If someone asked how Azamya’s personality is, her friends would describe her as someone who speaks their mind freely, is kind, creative, hardworking and passionate about her interests. Azamya is also someone who believes strongly in the term hard work pays off, and that things aren't going to be easy all the time.

Isabelle K. is a humble 10th-grade Journalism student at MRHS, who has always been fond of writing despite how tedious it can be. She had always wanted to be an author of something, whether it was a book or article, since she was in elementary school. Though she was lacking in master writing skills. Ever since she realized she had potential, Isabelle Kayembe has always attempted to refine her writing skills. She graduated from Rocky Top Middle school with a Language Arts Student of the Year Award, excited to continue down this route. Writing to her, like sculpture or painting, is a beautiful form of art. She takes interest in all forms of art but specializes in literature such as poetry and fiction. She takes inspiration from authors like Angie Thomas, Louis Sachar, and S.E Hinton, who focus on realistic fiction. Amongst other things, she enjoys volleyball, sculpture, baking, and herbology outside of school. Though this year is her first time taking up Journalism, she hopes to step out of her shell and take up more opportunities in writing.

Kiara R. is a sophomore at Mountain Range High School. She was born in southern Colorado, moving to the city when she was 2 years old. This school year she hopes to do better in her academics and make more friends and connections with people. She just started her interest in writing using Journalism to explore creative writing. Other things she enjoys participating in is track, music, gaming, baking, and spending time with friends.

Francesca M. is a sophomore at Mountain Range High School. Just having relocated to Brighton in 2015, she brought a somewhat diverse background because of how most of her years were spent in Batangas City, Philippines. Even since childhood she has been a traveler, Francesca has had a broad view of the world through visits to a variety of places, including the Philippines, Guam, Spain, Vietnam, and Australia. Beyond these experiences, she is also involved in athletics. After first participating in soccer, swimming and volleyball as a young little child, she began to focus more on sports in the eighth grade. During her freshman year, she decided to turn herself into a dedicated player in numerous sports like both flag football and basketball. When it comes to her life outside of school, Francesca cherishes time with her friends and family. For many months now, she has been living with multiple of her cousins. A lot of the time they do not get along but they share moments with laughter and connection highlighting the importance of family within her life. Furthermore, Francesca has always had an interest in animals. Just in the past few years, she has owned a number of animals, ranging from dogs and cats even to snakes. Currently, she owns a ball python named Rico, who is about to turn four, and a dog named Rukia, who just turned five. Just based on her values for the people around her, athletic dedication, and much more, it is not hard to make the prediction that Francesca could make contributions for her school community.

Perla P. is an energetic young lady that will give a smile anywhere and everywhere. A sophomore at MRHS born and raised in Denver, It's her first year joining Journalism and she is hoping to do well in that class her first year. She is confident in the sports she loves doing, involving trying her best and pushing hard work towards the sport just to become better in it even tho she goofs off.She loves to be kind with the people around her, no matter if it's in sports, outside of school, or even in her own home. Coming from a charter school her whole life and experiencing a big school by herself was a challenge from thinking she's gonna pass to struggling to pass. Pushing herself to become better in her classes and sports just to make her family proud of her accomplishments was her main goal freshman year which went downhill from not turning in work to not doing anything at all. It's not worth doing everything at the last minute, hoping she will do better this year than going back to her first year. In the end pushing yourself to become better not just for the other people around you but for yourself is really the only accomplishment you need in life.

Kamila A. is a Colorado native, currently enrolled as a junior in MRHS. She can often be found looking off into nothing with her earbuds in, though she does have a creative storm of ideas all over her head. Her imaginative mind comes from the desire to make up worlds and characters, inspiring the writing and drawings she loses herself in. Though, she doesn’t only stay in her own reality, as she tends to feel curious about what's going on and wants to learn more things about the unknown. This reporter's spirit is something Kamila is hoping to unleash a little more throughout the school year. Besides school work, she’s often with friends, it doesn’t matter if they’re on the other side of Colorado–or even across the ocean, she’s passionate about spending time with them.
